Liberty of London works an iconic cartoon cat into signature prints
Written by Amy Preiser
Both Liberty of London and Hello Kitty have individually partnered with a range of companies, from Hermès to Swarovski, so we might have suspected that the two cheery-chic brands would eventually team up. Their new line—available exclusively between September 26 and October 10—carries five original patterns that feature Hello Kitty peeking out from behind classic Liberty prints on fabric, stationery, alarm clocks, shower caps, and more. From Apple Tree, an adaptation of a graphic 1934 print, to Music Festival, a more demure blue-and-white floral, the designs are whimsical yet subtle, as if to make sure that the pairing of the 136-year-old shop and 36-year-old character is suitable for all ages.
